What Glastonbury Taught Me About Confidence, Style and Letting Go of the Rules

Embracing Glastonbury 2025

This year, I went back to Glastonbury for the first time in 25 years—and I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure how I’d manage it. I’m not exactly super fit these days, and after recently dealing with a bulging disc in my back, I was genuinely nervous about how I’d cope with the walking, standing, and dancing. But do you know what? I surprised myself. My back held up, my body handled it, and I had the most brilliant time.

But more than anything, what really stayed with me wasn’t just the music (which was incredible), or the vibe (which was warm, friendly, and full of love)—it was the atmosphere of freedom.

What I saw all around me was women of all shapes, sizes, and ages just showing up and owning who they are. Whether they were in full sequins, fancy dress, practical walking boots, or a simple outfit that made them feel good—everyone looked fabulous in their own way. No judgement. No rules. Just expression, confidence, and pure joy. Compliments were flying everywhere, from one woman to another. It was beautiful to witness.

And it got me thinking—why do we wait for a festival to feel this free? Why can’t we feel that confident, that connected to ourselves, every day?

The truth is: we can. But it often starts with unpicking years (sometimes decades) of ‘rules’ we’ve picked up about what we should wear, what’s “appropriate” for our age or body. Most of those rules? They’re outdated nonsense that keep us playing small.

If you’re ready to break free from all of that and rediscover who you are through your style, here’s how I help women do exactly that:

Step One: Let Go of the Style Rules

All those shoulds and can’ts you’ve been living by? It’s time to let them go. You don’t have to follow anyone’s style rules but your own.

Step Two: Get to Know Your Style

Not the version someone else told you to wear, but the one that lights you up. That feels like you. That makes you stand a little taller.

Step Three: Bring It to Life

This is where it gets exciting—translating that self-expression into outfits that make you feel strong, comfortable, confident and seen. It’s not about perfection; it’s about feeling good in your own skin.

If you’re ready to dip your toe in, I’d love you to join me for a Menopause Style Empowerment Masterclass—a one-hour Zoom call that will shift the way you think and feel about your body, your clothes, and your confidence.

You don’t need a festival to feel fabulous. You just need a little support, a fresh perspective—and permission to show up as your real, brilliant self.
